Deliver me from Pessimism, Please!

I suspect you are correct in your prognosis. Such dreary times we live in. It's like seeing a movie of the future with no power to stop such a future. Strength can only be countered with strength. President Obama has no sense of this at all. The default will go in the direction of a signficant growth of Islamist influence. Pretty soon the tipping point will have occurred.

In the meantime Obama just sputters out his bromides. The Republicans will destroy each other mortally and, arguably, the worst President since Buchanon (yes, even worse than Carter and the first Johnson) will have free reign in foreign policy. Further, our economic power will radically wane as Obama and the future Congress eat each other into a stalemate. Ou sont les neiges d'autan?

In any case I congratulate you in your firm defense in grouping Islamism with Fascism and Communism. The surface differences of and between these three ideologies are nothing compared to their respective willigness to force their ideologies on free people. But when free people lust after comfort at the expense of courage they bring such a destiny upon themselves.
