You think it's a mistake. I think it's a well-calculated quite conscious decision that serves a larger strategic goal.Radical Islam has been recognized once again by the US as a strategic ally to beat the main competitor of America on the world stage - the Chinese and Russians - with. What are Christians in Ivory Coast or in Kosovo worth in such a global game for those power hungry cynics ? As Mahomet used to say on such occasions : "Two goats won't butt their heads about them". If you want to win your chess game as they do, you will readily sacrifice a few stray pawns.
