Palestine or Philistine

In the Balfour Declaration the national home for the Jewish people was established because Palestine was originally Israel, Judah and Sumaria which were Jewish lands. The Romans changed the name of these Jewish lands to Palestine after an up-rising in which the Jewish people lost.This angered Rome and because the Philistines were considered enemies of the Jewish people and they had established themselves as friendly with the Romans a new name was given to the land which started out as "Philistina" but was later translated into Palestine...just a play on words.

The Philistines were an Agean people closely related to the Greeks. They were not Arab in origin, in fact Delilah was a Philistine and Sampson was a Jew from the tribe of Dan. Philistine is not an Arabic name and neither is Palestine. The Arabs were not hanging around during the Roman occupation. They did not want to be slaves of the Roman Empire. There was no Palestine during the days of Moses. The Romans had not invaded the Middle East yet.

David was a Jewish boy who defeated the giant Goliath who was a Philistine. The Philistines are not related to the Arabs. The Arab race officially began in Arabia (that's why they are Arabs...a nick-name for Arabian). Before the establishment of Israel, Judah and Sumaria, this realestate was known as stated in the Book of Genesis as the Land of Canaan. The Canaanites were a primitive people with no relation to Arabs either. When Abraham and his people came to the Land of the Cannanites from their original journal from Ur of the Chaldees which is today Jordan, there were no Arabs. Abraham had not had children yet. Abraham had two sons. One was Ishmael, with an Egyptian woman, and the other was Issaic with Sarah, his wife. Ishmael is considered to be the father of the Arab race according to Mohammed, and Isaaic the father of the Jewish people. His son was Jacob whose name was later changed to Israel. Refer to the first book of the Bible, or Torah. It's all there...the book is called Genesis. Sorry Dean, you've got your Philistines and Palestinians confused with each other.
