Good Vs Evil - The Great Conflict from the Beginning that America did not StartReader comment on item: Newt Gingrich and the "Invented" Palestinian People Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jan 3, 2012 at 17:23 Let us preface this exchange with the understanding that we have traded similar exchanges before and the subject always seems to devolve into what you learned in your youth versus what I learned in mine, the disparities of such a magnitude so as to guarantee that if left unchanged, no conclusion is essentially guaranteed. First of all, I take your salutation for the new year in the gesture it was offered; and that if all goes well for you in the coming year, we can count the blessings. Next, and our first point of political dissention, is about the constitutional laws governing America, which by your contention (and that of many progressives in America and abroad) are presumed archaic; and further being correctly observed by you, not compatible with a global mindset. There is a specific and very real reason for that - it was meant to be that way, for the founders and their posterity. America is a product of escaping religious and other intolerant ideologies not being compatible with the yearning and desire for freedom and liberty to live a life as designed by the Creator, the Almighty Sovereign. Over the years, those that did not share the same expectancies of life with the founders, even some that can be categorized as enemies of the American State, have challenged and fought through stylized legalities to dilute and diminish those freedoms and liberties for a variety reason of their own humanist ideologies. Internet access should give you an idea how that is as virulent now as it ever was. So how does that compute with America's continuation of involvement in world situations that cannot function in an American style of government? In my latest perspective, that is an excellent question. My simple answer, the same as it was in the eighteenth century, it cannot; it does not; it will not. And yet, we see that the world is advancing upon a world economy that requires certain interdependency in order to be sufficient in providing a living for all concerned. On the surface of it all, were it that simple, the postulation of not interfering with the government of the individual world partners might seem like the solution- do not care about how you got your production (blood diamonds for example-oil production for another), just make your deliveries and all will be well. You know as well as I do with others that that's not going to work. But let's look further to the socio-political issues that were absorbed into the world consciousness by the interference of the United Nations, as fostered by and promoted by the successor interests of the League of Nations, which has demonstrated the insatiable desire to control others even as they cannot demonstrate the control of themselves. One could go on and on; but to what conclusion. Now you make one certain mistake, that all who claim to be Christians are in concert with the inequities of the incumbent political process and the hip-connected economic disconnect that seems to plague the current American political scheme of things. America as a Christian nation can only claim that if it were fully true: but this is a problem for the believing disciple of Jesus Christ. There is incongruence here; but without you and I agreeing on Biblical principle, there is no relevant discussion to give you understanding. I'll beg to refrain here. But in the final paragraph, you take an understanding of a worldwide issue and try to apply to America as if America is at the center of the world's problems. It is not as you suppose; except as it might be your own opinion. The issues of humanity rise and fall upon the issues of good and evil. But as you and I have dissenting and variant sources of reference as to these questions, I can only give a superficial observation: to get to the root of it all would require a deeper connection of understanding, of which you and I are on disparate terms. Philosophically, good and evil are conflicting sides of a dilemma that faces humanity, that humanity brought about good versus evil by disobedience to Almighty God. That is where is gets its start. The conflict is resident in each and every individual except Jesus Christ; and it is going to Jesus Christ in faith that we can get a resolution of the conflict. The rest requires Biblical dissertation and you have already exhibit your disdain for such things so it is unlikely you will accept what I have found to be true about it all. You will need to resort to a belief in Jesus Christ if you truly desire to find the real answer to your question. That is all I can offer at this junction.
