Newt Gingrich and his knowledge of Palestine - a hypocrisy

Palestinian were mentioned in many text book and was on the map even before the British invaded Palestine,

In 1870 there were 370,000 Arab Palestinians (Jews, Christians and Muslims) and 7,000 Zionists (in settlements sponsored by Russia)

1918 after Britain colonized Palestine there was 600,000 Palestinian compare to 80,000 Zionists secretly sneaked and were on the increase until 1948 by the help of the British forces in Palestine.

In 1948 there was 1.4 million unarmed Palestinians compared to 650,000 Zionists (mostly non-Semitic or non-Arabs)

1949 after the declaration of the new Zionist state there was only 450,000 Palestinian compare to 1.5 million Zionist settlers - notice the numbers before 1948 and after in 1949

Palestine is placed in maps by name even before the Ottoman Empire spread to greater Syria, that include Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Palestine)

During the Byzantine Empire, it was called Palaestina [From Gaza to Above Galilee sea] and form the [Mediterranean Sea to east of Jordan area including Amon and Rabat Amon (Amman)] - 330-638 AD

During Umayyad rule in the (from mid 7th till mid 8th Century) the province of Greater Sham included 5 provinces, one main region was called the Army of Palestine (and it extended to the Palestine we know today from the sea to the river and from Sinai to Acre to the Golan Heights) and on the east there was the province the Army of Jordan

During Abbasid Caliphate Palestine was far from the main Caliph rule in Baghdad, but attention to the shrines was important the whole region was called Great Syria or Great Sham (750- 1009AD)

And during the Crusades invasion on intervals it was named Kingdom of Jerusalem 1099- 1187AD

Under Mamluke Rule between 1250 and 1517 Palestine was divided in three districts with three capitals Jerusalem, Gaza and Safad but was under the larger Great Syria district

During Ottoman Empire Palestine as official name and district disappeared until the 19th century they called it Arz- i Filistin (the land of Palestine in their official correspondence is always related the area we call Palestine from the sea to the river and from Sinai to Golan Heights (Palestine)

Also to mention that Palestine was named philistine in Ancient times during all Prophets of God

During the British mandate in 1917, the area was considered Palestine, and until its fall in the Zionist hands in 1948 there was a British passport special for the native Palestinians under occupation and there were Palestinian coins the piaster and their were Palestinian stamps - There was a Palestinian culture that is different from the surrounding neighbors.
