In Spite of Perry's Poor Poll Showing-He Wasn't Wrong About Turkey's Turn From The WestReader comment on item: Turkey Out of NATO: Other Voices Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jan 19, 2012 at 17:14 The Perry candidacy did not rise and fall based upon any perception of the stance that needed to be maintained with Israel as Israel has fallen far from the accord once had with a more moderate Turkish government. And the Turkish foreign minister did his country no favors in the eyes of those who do recognize Israel's right to its own sovereignty by trying very poorly to cast its relations in the region than, say, that of Iranian backed Syria. It seemed to be a particularly poorly chosen target of a question that should be directed towards the current American Chief Executive, given the stance of the current American administration in not choosing its regional Middle Easter partners wisely. In matter of fact, directing the question to a candidate that has already been castigated and relegated by the polling targeting system seemed to be a redundant effort on the part of those who seem to have ulterior motives in the political process anyway. In any event, Turkeys actions will be more of a determinant that Gov. Perry was right in the final analysis, Perry only suceeding to state the obvious to an institutional blindness of a deteriorating situation in the Middle East.
