The Iranian leadership is both very reasonable and genocidal. How can one have both? To them it is an ideological goal to see Israel disappear. The restraint of reason is time: They see neither the opportunity nor the urgency to do anything wild now. This is where the Iranian leadership and Hitler differ. Hitler desired a completed genocide within his very own lifetime. Another major difference is that the Iranian leadership never declared Israel as an essential threat to Iran's future. Hitler was the opposite. He felt that the Jewish European population would endanger the survival of Germany from a racist perspective. Iran perceives no immediate threat. Emotionally the Iranian leadership sleeps easy with the presence of Israel.
