A real dilemma

Amen. Amen. to all you said. Standing up to such threats seems to have vanished from our nation. So long as President Obama is in office there will e no change. America in retreat. Maybe it's already too late for us. I have been a college teacher for forty years. The change in most students is overwhelming and does not bode well for the future of our country.

One small note: The Islamist/jihadist threat must be countered by consistent force. Period. That having been said. Islam is, relatively speaking, still a young religion. We ought not forget that Christianity made a major commitment to fight heresy by burning at the stake (an horrific and relatively slow dying) and through the Crusades. And even now, if we look at it historically, more Jews have been killed over the centuries in the name of Jesus than Jews killed in the name of Muhammed. That is a sobering thought. The endemic Christian Anti-Semitism from the Middle Ages ((it goes back to the Fathers of the Church)) was the ultimate reason whey the pipsqueak from Austria could orchestrate the Holocaust. Islam did not bring gthis about.

OK. that was then. This is now. We must be -- if we are to survive as a nation -- take every necessary measure to DEFEAT jihadist Islam. Islam will evolve and will learn to live in accord of the positive teachings of its founder. In the meantime, we must do what we can to block (by military force if necessary) the present threat from that faction within Islam which is not only destructive but also self-destructive. I also suggest that -- perhaps it will take centuries -- Islam will come to the defense of Israel. Issac and Ishmael are, after all, half-brothers.
