German paper "Die Zeit" commentator disillusioned: "The big void in the heart of terror"

Jörg Lau comments the Boston attacks online in the German paper "Die Zeit".

Let me translate some key lines:

Titel: Die grosse Leere im Herzen des Terrors

Title: The big void in the heart of terror.

Erst wollte ich gar nichts schreibem, jetzt musste es doch sein.

First, I was not gonna write anything, now it has to be.

Aber eben darum habe ich es - zweitens - satt, mich mit solches Typen weiter zu beschäftigen.

But this is wh I am, secondly, fed up to occupy my mind with such types any longer.

Ich habe es wirklich satt. Mir reicht's. Ich weiss genug - mehr als ich je wissen wollte - über die Attas, die Merahs, die Al-Awlakis, und jetzt eben über die Zarnajews. Ich muss sagen, es kommt nichts menschlich Interessantes dabei heraus.

I am really fed up. I'm done. I know enough - more than I have ever wanted to know - about the Attas, the Merahs, the Al-Awlakis, and now about the Zarnajews. I must say, this amounts to nothing of interest from the human perspective.

Ich habe das dumpfe Gefühl, die nächsten radikalen Verlierer schon zu kennen, die Tamerlan und Dschahar nacheifern werden.

I have a gloomy feeling, I already know the next radical losers, who will eagerly emulate Tamerlan and Dschahar.

To me his position is new. It indicates a shift in public opinion. Lau feels, he graduated from his "education by murder". It is an implicit appeal to end the public discourse for the conclusion are clear and repetitive. He is reluctant to repeat the obivous connection between Radical Islam and terror. Been there done that. I agree with Lau, the recent attack reflects sthe bigger picture of Islamist ideoplogy in yet another two terrorists. I see no individual characteristics that would mitigate the pattern.
