Yes, we learn, painfully and in spite of our governing classReader comment on item: Education by Murder in Boston Submitted by Jeff (United States), Apr 24, 2013 at 13:23 Our intrepid free press and our so-called leaders will quickly work to disabuse us of anything we might learn from the Boston Marathon bombing. We'll be incessantly warned against the backlash against Muslims that never actually happens. We've already been told we didn't try hard enough to make the "fellows" (as the governor of Massachusetts calls them) feel welcome enough in the USA; as though our efforts were sorely lacking after giving them a home, welfare, a free education, high school sports camaraderie and a scholarship to a taxpayer-supported state university. In other words, it's our fault. Who the heck wouldn't blow up women and small children after being treated like that? Despite the family's refugee status based on the mortal threat hanging over them back home, both the father and bail-skipping mother have moved back home, are alive and well and aren't afraid to appear on camera. Don't expect any examination of this simple fact in your newspaper. Do these two fellows have anything in common with Faisal Shahzad, or Mohamed Osman Mohamud, or Hosam Maher Husein Smadi, or Ramzi Yousef, or Mohamad Shnewer, or Mohamed Atta, or Serdar Tatar, or Dritan, Eljvir and Shain Duka? Could anything they have in common explain their motivation? Oh, let's not go there. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
