wondering about TurkeyReader comment on item: Muslims Turn away from Islamism Submitted by David Bloom (United States), Jul 18, 2014 at 21:28 I wonder what Dr. Pipes thinks of the prospects for a change in the direction of Turkey's leadership. Turkey's alignment with Islamist forces seems as strong now as ever. I wonder also if I could be so bold as to ask whether Dr. Pipes foresees that Israel will continue to enjoy good relations with the Sunni Arab states (i.e. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc.) and bad relations with the "periphery" with which it used to enjoy partnerships (Turkey, Iran)?

Odd, yes, that the "periphery strategy" of David Ben-Gurion has been flipped on its head. Looks like this will also remain in place for a while. Reader comments (27) on this item
