Well said Dr Pipes....until the last sentence. Whatever the cost, the denial must end and we must face the threat of Islam (not Islamism - fundamentalist, radical, militant, extremist or otherwise). The alternative, subjugation under the "best of peoples", would be the end of Western civilisation. There would be nothing left worth fighting or living for.

At this stage of the world-wide conflict we are still in a game of own goals. It is only Muslim atrocities which are likely to wake us up therefore we need martyrs like never before. If it takes 3,000,000 martyrs then so be it. But martyrs have differential value. 3,000,000 ordinary joes equals 3,000 journalists, academics or churchmen equals 300 celebrities (step forward Kim, we'll miss your bum but think of your Armenian forebears) equals 30 high ranking politicians, royalty or moneymen. So there you are - the job can be done a fraction of the cost.
