Iran is much more difficult to attack

Mr. Pipes in his argumentation misses one very important topic. It is much more difficult to attack iranian nuclear facilities, compared to former attacks in Iraq and Syria.

It is more distant, so the chances of a surprise air strike is less.

The iranian facilities are larger, more dispersed and better protected.

So, if Israel wants to attack, intelligence first must come up with detailed information upon the positions, importances and defences of Irans nuclear facilities. Then a plan must be developed, which gives the attack forces a fair chance to deliver a succesful attack and return safe. Because a failure will be counterproductive, cause retaliation and make it more difficult to decide and carry out further attacks.
