I am unceasingly amazed at how credulous even most hawkish commentators are that there is an alternative besides war to the "bad deal" currently being negotiated. I do doubt that the deal will be signed, however, because the Iranian side will not make at least one of concession from which even the Obama Administration will not back down: full and immediate access for inspectors to military sites suspected of harboring enrichment.

Thus, I doubt a deal will be signed--and if one is not, then I expect the reaction of both the U.S. Congress and of the Israel Defense Forces to be more muted than would be the case if even the bad deal that the White House is currently promoting were signed. In the latter scenario, I would expect the Senate to pass the Corker/Menendez Bill with a veto-proof majority, and for the IAF to bomb Iranian nuclear sites within a calendar year. What I predict will happen, though, is ... I have no idea (!?).
