Obama may soon start the end

Hi, Waz

I don't know how such a simple statement on my part has gotten so diffused. I did offer many proofs and illustrations, but the statement is simply this: We are facing an imminent, cataclysmic end of life as we know it. Let me focus on your wrods pertaining to this:

So given that we are at a peak now and from now on it's downhill - the question is - how much will they vary from what we can reasonably call 'normal'? And for whom? Just the very rich?

I'm not talking about a "downhill slide", but a sudden catastrophe. Here's what the Bible says:

Zechariah 14:
[1] Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
[2] For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
[3] Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
[4] And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
[5] And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
[6] And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
[7] But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

[9] And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
[10] All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
[11] And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
[12] And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
[13] And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.

Now, to examine the elements:

[12] And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

This describes the effects of nuclear weapons, and nothing else. Only a nuclear blast can cause the "flesh to consume", etc. while people "stand upon their feet".

Your thinking concerning nuclear war is about 70 years out of date. Here's an example:

"Even if 2,000 nuclear explosions occured over 24 hours instead of over 70 years - it would probably be survivable..."

Nowhere near 2,000 devices are required. One EMP device, detonated at high altitude on the US-Canada border would cause so much damage, it would cripple the US. I needn't go into details on this matter: they have been published widely. Our vulnerability, is our dependence on microelectronics: The very miniaturization of circuits that allows us to process information at lightning speed, causes those circuits to be highly vulnerable to destruction by electromagnetic pulse; and those microcircuits control everything in our society -- from our automobiles, which cannot function when their computers are disabled; to our airliners, which would literally all drop from the sky with the explosion of one device, to our electricity generating facilities, our fuel transports, even the pumps at our gas stations: We could even have gas in the tanks, but be unable to get at it. Hospitals would be set back decades; medicines could not be ordered or delivered... the havoc would destroy the US economy overnight.

I have just focussed on the US economy here. Of course, other countries would be hit as well; and the entire world is as dependent on microelectronic devices as much as we are; but let's just focus on the US. In 2008, the US stock market underwent a MINOR adjustment, due mainly to changes in demand in the housing market; but it had a major ripple effect throughout the world. An EMP attack would not have a minor effect on the stock market: It would literally destroy the stock market. Chinese imports to the US would not slow down: they would entirely stop; because the cargoes could not even be unloaded onto the docks, much less transported to destinations.

I hope you get the picture: Just one EMP device, say, one carried by an Israeli, Iranian, Indian or Chinese satellite, would cause economic dislocations that would make the Weimar inflation and subsequent misery of pre-Hitler Germany seem like a holiday. But consider this: When Germany went Nazi, the rest of the world was still held together by its Colonial architecture. The sudden demise of a mainstay superpower such as the US would open the floodgates of anarchy: Talibans, Caliphates, Lord's Resistance Armies, drug cartels, "color" revolutions gone wild, separatist movements, you name it, would replace what today is a functioning social and economic order.

Notice that I just focussed on the effect of one bomb on one country. That's worth chewing on, before extrapolating from there.

Meanwhile, DEBKA informs us that Big O plans to "create" a state of "Palestine", with arbitrary borders, in the middle of Israel. DEBKA is often premature in such pronouncements; but it should be no news to anyone that such a development has been in the making for some time. How will Obama, and his Russian, Chinese and European allies enforce such a creation? That's spelled out in the Bible passage I quoted:

[2] For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle;

That's "all nations", as in "The United Nations", or "the UNSC".

That doesn't leave much to the imagination. In the past 25 years, the US has led coalition attacks on Iraq, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq again, Libya and ISIL -- none of which are nuclear powers. Matters will be qualitatively different, when a UNSC-mandated coalition attacks nuclear-armed Israel.

If Mr. Obama goes through with his plans in the Security Council, he will effectively start WWIII.
