Reader comment on item: MEF's Surprising Straw Poll on Trump
in response to reader comment: Left, Right, Religion, Trump and the Media

Michael,

In my view, G-d has left the US to its own devices ever since we told Him that we didn't need Him back in 1963... when not a single representative of any organised religion submitted not a brief or even a letter on the famous O'Hare case in front of SCOTUS. As happened famously in one recounted history, He will let you see you your own devices and ways will lead you if you demonstrate that you think you don't need Him and that is what the court did. And, by virtue of that loss of Grace, look where we are in comparison to where we were.

I can see how Trump has excited many as his approach to the Establishment is what it needs, meaning that we need to take the country back to the people and The Establishment will never let us do that if they can help it; so, Donald is the only candidate following that line of thinking. I worry, though, that, if elected, either he will be bowled over by the Zapruder film conversation that presidents seem to have given to them before the oath of office, or he will need to establish a protection service for himself that is actually loyal to him... as the service demonstrated before that they are not loyal to the office holder.

There are many alternatives sitting out there as "feasible", but most of them are not palatable as I would dread either of the Democrat candidates taking office in addition to some more arcane and violent scenarios being played about in the realm of "prophecy". Given the outcome of a famous case where He left the residents to follow their own desires, the outcome may not be pleasant for anyone and the election will be the least of the issues US residents face. I hope it is not as bad as it was for the previous case I cited. But, on the other hand, Europe is undergoing a progressive decline that may be survivable, so who knows?

Be careful,
Doug
