Islam is basically a set of erroneous and often bizarre ideas which might have been applicable or useful to arabian 7th century tribes. But it is just ideas, nothing more. And as such incapable of any action. So of course it is not islam, per se, that wants you to submit to it, but muslims who are doing all the insisting.
