Good points, Menachem!Reader comment on item: Obama, Kerry and Netanyahu Go Visceral Submitted by Michael S., Jan 2, 2017 at 11:45 Hello, Menachem I agree completely with your comments. ... Yes, I expect President Trump to be a true friend of Israel, perhaps the best friend they have ever had. One thing Daniel failed to observe about the President-to-be, is the strong connections of his family not just to Israel, but to the "settlements": https://www.breakingisraelnews.com/79671/trump-kushner-clan-supporting-israel-family-business/#YKqlyy3i59rG3lZ0.97 I respect Professor Pipes's tremendous intellect, strong education and political background, and equable demeanor, not to mention his strongly pro-Israel heart. That said,...I do not understand him sometimes. Of course, Donald Trump has an obvious emotional side to him -- a side, I wholeheartedly say, which he skillfully channels in very practical, non-emotional directions. Binyamin Netanyahu, John Forbes Kerry and -- ahem! excuse me! -- Obama all have emotional sides, and all of them have similarly channeled them to fulfil their personal and political agendas. In the latest overt tirades they have exchanged against one another, this personal control over feelings is no less apparent than it has been for the past 20+ years. The only thing that has changed between now and the past, is that Obama's VERY Lame Duck status has given all these men the opportunity to say the things they have. None of what any of them has said, is off-the-cuff emotional spouting: All of it, in every case, is cool and calculated. Thank you again, Menachem, for your comment.
