Another perspective on the Obama-Kerry-Netanyahu remarksReader comment on item: Obama, Kerry and Netanyahu Go Visceral Submitted by Bryan Taplits (United States), Jan 5, 2017 at 12:32 Thank you for sending me your analysis; I always enjoy and have learned much from your past articles. However,I believe that Netanyahu's "declaration of war" remark he made regarding New Zealand's action, he meant as a metaphor-not that the actions of New Zealand actually deserved a declaration of war-but he wanted to make the point that should other countries (especially those previously benign) sally forth against Israel, he as Israel's PM won't take it lightly. I agree that the pot just boiled over as far as Obama's abstention, Kerry's declaraton and Netanyahu's response are concerned. That's why each action & remark veritably seethed with animus. They obviously (and Netanyahu, in my opinion, has reason) have antipathy against each other-and now, with the end of the Obama era, no longer must each remain as politic as before. I believe such UNSC resolutions should not be ignored, and should even be showcased by Israel. Ignoring bad resolutions can only lead to bad laws and possibly worse resolutions. If the Holocaust taught anything it's not to ignore the horrible and unbelievable-because if you do they both could/will become more likely.
