Caste distinctions are out-of-place in AmericaReader comment on item: What Rex Tillerson Thinks Submitted by Michael S, Jan 8, 2017 at 01:36 Daniel, the heart of what you're saying, seems to be, "How an amateur president and an amateur secretary of state together will guide a great power's foreign policy will be, to say the least, interesting to watch." You are, of course, equating tremendously successful international businessmen as "amateurs". Is this a reflection of your prejudices in favor of the "political class" over the "business class"? This would fit well in India, with its caste system; but it seems out of place in America.

Even if one does accept Trump as a "tremendously successful international businessman" (something I doubt), it baffles me that these two can be expected to be adept at making foreign policy, where they have no experience whatsoever. I am worried. Reader comments (31) on this item
