Sarsour should not be showing her faceReader comment on item: Linda Sarsour, The Left's Latest Star Submitted by Mike Ramirez, Feb 3, 2017 at 07:38 How ironic that Linda Sarsour boasts about her "beauty" as a devout Muslim woman. Sarsour should realize that if she lived in a truly fundamental Muslim society she would be required to have her complete face and body covered by either a burqa or niqab. The reason this was ordered by Muhammad was so that men would not be able to recognize and gaze at women, particularly his wives. A hijab is NOT a veil; it is a scarf. If Sarsour really wants to be a devout follower of Islam, she should not be showing her face. Here's proof from Islamic rulings: "And as regards the (verse of) the veiling of the women, I said, 'O Allah's Apostle! I wish you ordered your wives to cover themselves from the men because good and bad ones talk to them.' So the verse of the veiling of the women was revealed." O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e.screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft¬Forgiving, Most Merciful. - Mohsin Khan (Qur'an 33:59) Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
