Mullah Linda Sarsour (Sala Allahu 'Alayha wa Salam) declares Jihad aka Holy War on the Trump Administration! No I'm not kidding!

You must be following this little drama unfolding of Linda Sarsour declaring Jihad against the Trump Admin then she gets into the old and tired nonsense about Jihad being an "inner struggle" and the Washington Post agrees with her

So once again for readers that are not Arabic speakers the meaning of the word al-Jihad: Arabs use the root system so the word Jihad belongs to the root J-H-D or جهد and from the root we have many words and notice that the Arabs use the verb in its present tense as the starting point so we have:

1. يجتهد or Yajtahid or he strives to improve and now we have the word اجتهاد or Ijthad often used by Muslim apologists who usually have no command of Arabic and Arabic grammar to tell us that this is what Jihad really means

2. يجهد or Yijhad or he strains (as in physical strain) and now we have the word جُهْدْ or Juhd or strain

3. يجاهد or Yujahid (I'm sure must be familiar with the word Mujahiduun or holy warriors and they are for sure not called Mujtahiduun or Majhuduun) and now we have the word جهاد or Jihad aka Holy War

And here is the root J-H-D in Lisan al-Arab the most authoritative and first dictionary of classical Arabic

And here is what Ibn Manzur tells us about the meaning of the word Jihad and these are not my words:

الجهاد محاربة الاعداء

Or al-Jihad is fighting the enemies

But who are really the enemies? Ibn Manzur's answer is to fight في سبيل الله or in the path of Allah or the enemies of Allah and who are they? The rest of humanity that are not Muslims

It is all in black and white

Here is the meaning: خرج الجنود للجهاد للقتال في سبيل الله or (al-Jihad means) The soldiers went out for al-Jihad of for fighting in the cause of Allah

Very clear that the meaning here is Holy War

Notice also that Muslim apologists and non Arabic speaking Muslims use meanings of the words Juhd and Ijtihad to hide the fact that Jihad really means Holy War back then and now

As for the often quoted Hadith about the greater and lesser Jihad as I wrote before:

1. This hadith is not included in any of the authoritative collections of the Ahadith

2. This hadith is regarded as being spurious

Back to Linda Sarsour: She is either a liar or she is illiterate and I suspect that she is both
