My apology for my imprecision! It's your doubt/Hesitation I complain about essentially, regarding US President TrumpReader comment on item: Count Palestine Refugees? Submitted by Robert (United States), Sep 29, 2018 at 16:24 Dear Daniel Pipes, My apology for my imprecision! I don't think any President - except perhaps Lincoln during the Civil War - was so despised, especially by the Liberal Traditional Media that's own by a Dozen Liberal Billionaires. Although I don't like these labels (Liberal/Conservative), they happen to be the ones used to distinguish the "Pros" (those who support something) and the "Cons" (those against). I believe that it is difficult for you to recognize that President Trump is exactly the person you would like to pursue your "anti-Islamism" (against Political Islam) Policy, because he is depicted in the most negative way possible by the "Fake Media" - I'm deliberately using his favored expression. For example, when I Google his name under "News" and read the Headlines of the posted articles by the mainstream "newspapers" I do not get the "news" - I get an ATTACK on what he did wrong, or stupidly' every effort is made to find some "fault" with President Trump. One reason is, obviously,is that he simply isn't a Harvard or Yale man - unlike Obama; Trump is, clearly a Populist, a Working Man's Man. He is not what the Liberal "Bourgeoisie" likes; it's IRONIC that a Billionaire Real-Estate Capitalist is the one who has more in common with the People of the United States than any other Democrat or Republican. So I'm glad you updated your posting - I noticed that. However,I think you have swallowed the idea of the media that Trump is "Impulsive" or "Unpredictable." But he's also depicted as "Stubborn." Unfortunately, these labels are used to discredit him as some sort of a Madman. In fact, he is stubbornly focused on what is Best for the United States and its Friends, like Israel. Notice, also, that EVERYTHING that THE DONALD has done so far is EXACTLY what he promised he would do when he was campaigning for the office of the Presidency. On the very small issues, where he's depicted as "dishonest," he's really doing Marketing - exactly in the American Way: Advertising, Promoting, Salesmanship, etc. It's known as "Spinning" and is LEGAL; he is, in fact, a GREAT POLITICIAN - that's why he got elected. So my question to you, Dr. Daniel Pipes, is why do you still hesitate on Trump's performance? I'm taking the not very highly educated guess that because Donald Trump does not have anywhere close to ypour great literary and rhetorical skills (or anyone else's) is very hard for you to believe that such a man can do so much good for the United States and for Israel, its greatest Strategic ally! As for myself, I see him as possessing great skills - in the realm of Napoleon Bonaparte; I know you don't like the other man (for other reasons) - but HENRY KISSINGER predicted that Trump would possibly outperform any recent US President - precisely because he is also OUT OF THE (Political) LOOP of the (Washington) Establishment. So what I'm challenging you to do is acknowledge Trump already, instead of worry that he'l do something wrong. On the other hand, ever Napoleon Bonaparte made some critical errors which in the end cost him the throne, and Europe ended up in a Reactionary Phase, with the restoration of the "Ancient Regime(s)." Are you waiting for Trump to make a "big Mistake" before you'll grant him some praise? Well, unlike Napoleon, our US President can only serve 4 or 8 years at most. Am I going to have to wait these 8 or 4 years before you use superlatives adjacent to the name "Trump"?
