To Kepha: good comments; BTW, this plague seems like a warning from God.Reader comment on item: Conspiracy Theories in a Time of Virus [COVID-19] Submitted by Michael S (United States), Mar 30, 2020 at 04:02 Hi, Kepha. Your comments are all reasonable. I watched President Trump's press briefing in the Rose Garden last night. It was excellent, and I'm glad he chose to simply call this monster the "coronavirus". That's easy to understand, and not offensive in any direction. If you're interested at all, which I'm not implying you are, I see this developing crisis as one of a series of warnings from God to, frankly, "one and all". We have had a series of such warnings, going back at least to 9/11. I won't try to imply I understand what each of them SAID; but I think it's clear what the targets are: 1. 9/11: targeted symbols of American economic and military power, as well as our prestige as the world's preeminent nation. 2. The 2008 Economic meltdown: targeted the "safest investment in the world", namely, Fanny Mae. 3. The 2015 (year?) economic downturn that shook up China. Targeted the "greatest up-and-coming economy in the world". 4. The current crisis, which threatens to trash both the dollar and the Euro, and seems to have destroyed the Globalist dream. In every case, what are being attacked are things people entrust their lives to who have abandoned faith in God. Said another way, they are the great idols of our times. I might add that the great religions of the world have also taken a beating: First Officially Atheist China was hit hard; then Qom, the Iranian holy city, seems to have been specifically targeted; then the Vatican got hit, and lastly, both Israel and New York City, starting with the yeshivas. India seems to have gotten off lightly. No comment on that. The message of it all seems to be, "Everybody, turn from your idols to the Living God" -- not a terribly new message; but if it's ignored (which it likely will be), we can expect hard times ahead.
