Western civilization down the drain

It seems to me the wider population traded rule of law, democracy, civil liberties for nothing but precisely one item. This item is toilet paper. Toilet paper shines as the culmination of all the achievements of Western civlization. Just as toilet paper does, Western civilization goes down the drain.
