Interesting observation; though this observer has a differing view of why.
Time is not a human invention, but one that mankind is subject to for reasons of measuring how long it takes for humanity to realize that pursuing religion does not allow mankind access to eternity. Again, look to the law of the Eternal Sovereign in the Torah to see, then get wisdom to understand why.
From the beginning, the elements of creation were set in motion to register how long it would take for mortal humanity's first individual, who had the first opportunity to live as an immortal, got caught up in his thinking that being perfect in his own eyes, he was in charge of his own destiny. He was wrong and when confronted with it, made the wrong choice of allegiance to a false deity, himself. The rest of humanity is still paying for that error and trying to find the perfect religion does not get it done. Religion, as reader/observer Black observes, is temporary; and worse, distracts as that path to death is mistakenly chosen.
The Torah begins and the Tanakh completes the path necessary for humanity to search out, then find the true source of time that is given for humanity to acknowledge the Eternal Sovereign, Who is the Creator, the Holy One of Israel that at the appointed time, became human temporarily, was put to death on a Roman cross, shedding His blood, then dying; then after death, rose again to show the path all of humanity must take in order to defeat time and religion in order to live in eternity. Religion did not get it done, for religion, as was shown in Babel, was a human invention of the pride of mankind in rejecting the Eternal Sovereign's will.
It is the battle we see to day; human religion tries, but fails, to overtake that which is reserved to the Eternal Sovereign, the Holy One of Israel in the fight that ultimately leads to the final battle, in Zion. This is where religion does not fade, but is evaporated in the presence of the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world at the end of time.
