Calling out Ilhan Omar's hypocrisyReader comment on item: Will Islam Survive Islamism? Submitted by Prashant (India), Dec 3, 2021 at 03:37 Dear Dr Pipes: I will post the link to a statement by Ilhan Omar (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMJuCtlxe0M) and call her out for her hypocrisy. In this video Ms Omar claimed that she was getting hundreds of death threats on her emails and/or voice-mails. She even played a recording of such a death threat. Death threats to celebrities and politicians are deplorable but commonplace. Most politicians do not draw as much mileage from these threats as Ms. Omar drew. After playing the recording of the threat, she quickly jumped to what Muslim politicians in non-Muslim democracies routinely do: She asserted that "our constitution" does not allow anyone to block her freedom of speech. And, --as if we did not know it already-- toward the end of her speech Ilhan Omar said that "it was never an option for her to not wear her hijab". Ms Omar should know that we are well aware of her thankless in-your-face attitude. So what is hypocritical about it? Even a fifth grader should know it but I will tell Ms. Omar. In her above video Ms. Omar did not try to hide her Islamic identity. She did not distance herself from anything Islamic. But she did not even remotely mention that the democracy that she so much likes is America is simply not present in most of the lands occupied by Islam. She did not say that the non-separation of Mosque and State required by the Islamic doctrine is a pain in everybody's neck. She failed to mention that she was thankful to America where Muslims are thriving and growing in terms of percent of population. She did not mention that freedom of expression and thought is not even a matter of consideration for the minority populations in the Islam-occupied lands where Muslims always manage to grow up to by a 98% majority. And, Ms. Omar had no tears to spare for the Yezidi's of Iraq and Syria who were just recently systematically massacred by brotherly ISIS. If we have to save our planet from the Islamists, we need to highlight their hypocrisy. All of us must do it. Every time we get a chance, we ought to do it. Ironically, I am writing this message just as I heard the obtrusive Islamic call for prayer on a loudspeaker in Hindu India.
