There is no such thing as Israelo-phobia; let us not copy Islamic tendency to lieReader comment on item: Will Islam Survive Islamism? Submitted by prashant (United States), May 8, 2022 at 12:11 Dear Dr Pipes, I am seeing more and more people using terms like Israelophobia and Hinduphobia etc. I think this is a bad tendency and is a direct result of trying to imitate the behavior of the Islamists. I think that first, the word Islamophobia is a misnomer and second, the similar copycat words are also misguided. On the first hand, there is no such thing as Islamophobia. The fear of Islam is real and genuine. How can a normal human being not be scared of Islamic terrorism, wanton killings, and draconic social practices? The fear of Islam is real and tangible. Then, there should not be a fear of Israel and India etc. Why should anyone be afraid of a tiny democracy like Israel that responsible for thousands of scientific discoveries that is surrounded by rogue nations from all sides. And, India! No country has come even come close to producing a leader like Gandhi. And, non-violence is a recent talk in the West. India more or less invented that thought. And, Islamic societies do not even know what non-violence can be. So, let us not imitate the Islamic tendency to misrepresent. Islam has to med its ways and others should not imitate the Islamic vocabulary to claim that we are also Islamic-style victims.
