9-11, Afganistan a Failed State, Again Under the TalibanReader comment on item: Will Islam Survive Islamism? Submitted by Ludvikus (United States), Jan 17, 2022 at 22:12 It is too early to tell what will happen now that the "Occupation" of Afghanistan has taken place. But it's useful to review the history that brought about this Islamist regime. The political and economic destruction of Afghanistan was inspired by destruction of the World Trade Center in New York City, and the partial destruction of the Pentagon in Washington, DC. It may be useful to point out that the Democracy of the USA often resists a major war unless serious provoke. World Wars I & II war provoked, as in the case of Japan bombing Hawaii. The catastrophic attacks of 9-11 (2001) made next to impossible to avoid war. But what is most significant here to observe is that Afghanistan was the most radical Islamist country which attacked the USA on its own (USA) soil. Islamist Iran, formed in 1979, merely occupied (with our citizens for 444 days) in our Embassy there. These hostages were released on January 20, 1981. Now I hypothesize that this is the turning point for Muslim majority countries and their Islamist cohorts. It now appears that no country in the world wishes to recognize the Taliban Regime. Even the United Nations refuses to recognize the new regime in Afghanistan. The preoccupation with this country is merely Humanitarian because it is forecast that 23 Million or so of Afghanistan citizens will freeze and starved this winter if massive humanitarian aid, about $4.44 Billion is not raised. There is no Muslim majority country filling the void which the USA created by abandoning Afghanistan - neither Pakistan or Iran, have stepped in; and certainly not Russia or China. So this maybe the turning point in Political Islam (Islamism) World Wide. It appears that the Whole World is about to Witness what an Islamist State (Afghanistan under the rule of the Taliban) is like. It Appears that Muslim Brotherhood Egypt under Morsi was not enough. And neither was the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. In summary, the question to ask is whether the shear INCOMPETENCE of Taliban Islamist prove to all Muslims that there is no place in the world for Islamist (Political Islam). Obviously, the only thing the Taliban rulers have is Taliban Islamist fanatics with Western Rifles and Cell Phones.
