Zumarra, Mizmar and the Semitic root Z-M-RReader comment on item: What to Make of Éric Zemmour? Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Dec 2, 2021 at 14:06 Dr. Pipes, Very interesting. There is a Semitic root ز-م-ر and ܙ-ܡ-ܪ in Syriac/Aramaic (compare with Hebrew זַמָּר Zammar) and it is related to music/singing and in Arabic زمارة also مزمار means: "pipe or flute like instrument made of cane or wood." Notice that the Aramaic ܙܡܪܐ mean: singer, musician, psalmist.
