Tovey: Our dear Renox is doing his little Da'wa or is it the Pakistani/Indian Tabligh?Reader comment on item: Islam's Surprising Impact on Daily Life Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Dec 13, 2021 at 08:52 Here is an old post of mine about this bogus "Hadith" that he is quoting: Dr. Pipes There is a "Hadith" which we hear about it by Muslim apologists ad nauseum (it was even quoted by Obama ) and that is اطلبوا العلم ولو بالصين Or seek knowledge even in China! Why China? Because to Muhammad and the Arabs it was "the end of the world" or as far as one can travel from Arabia! The problem is this Hadith is not accepted The reasons given by Muslim scholars? 1. أسانيده ضعيفه or the Isnads (or the names of those that transmitted the Hadith) are weak 2. باطل لا أصل or the (Hadith) is wrong and has no (reliable) source 3. منكر الحديث or this Hadith is denied (not true) 4. ضعفه Or (it is rejected because of) its weakness This hadith is bogus. However, Muslims apologists, that tell us that the Qur'an is a science book, in their desperate attempts to prove their point they have to resort to using a bogus Hadith! Here is a link for those readers that can read Arabic http://fatwa.islamweb.net/fatwa/index.php?page=showfatwa&Option=FatwaId&Id=34979 Most damaging to Muslim apologists is that the word 'Elm or علم (knowledge) and عالم or 'Alm and plural 'Ulama "those that master the knowledge": The knowledge here is the knowledge of the book of Allah and the Muslim literary tradition and that is it No wonder many Muslims are becoming "Qur'an only" Muslims. Notice that Muslim scholars tell us that it is not a "Hadith" and it is only a false رواية (story of fiction). The real question is: It is either our dear Renox was aware that this is a رواية which means that it is bogus or he had no clue and was just repeating what he found in Tablighee web sites "Ye" and all. So which one is it? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
