Abu Mazen and the decline of IslamReader comment on item: How Muslims Can Catch Up Submitted by Prashant (United States), Aug 17, 2022 at 13:45 Dear Dr Pipes, my research on Abu Mazen (aka Mahmoud Abbas) revealed a lot about him. Some of the revealed facts were good and others not so good. Some of the revealed facts point toward declination of Islam. First of all, Abu Mazen means 'Father of Mazen'. Mazen was Abbas' son who was a builder in Qatar but died young at the age of 42. That makes me empathize with Mr Abbas. Second, while Muslim leaders encourage their citizens to die for Islam 'till the last Muslim', they shamelessly send their kids to study/work in Western nations. The other two sons are well established in the Western world. One of them is reportedly a Canadian businessman and the other is a business executive. While Abbas will encourage the (so called) Palestinians to stay put and fight to destroy Israel, he encouraged his children to emigrate to Qatar or Canada. I must add that the historic parallel between trigger-happy Muslim Palestine and trigger-happy Muslim Kashmir continues here as well. The children of the famous Abdullah political family of Kashmir are alums of schools in Britain. Lastly, Muslims who do not die fighting for Islam as instructed, gradually contribute to the well deserved but indirect decline of fundamentalist Islam. It is reported that 6 of 8 grand children of Mahmoud Abbas, are members of Seeds of Peace, an organization that works to build bridges with young Israelis. This might be an example of Islamic taquiyya or could be real. In either case, it will contribute to the decline in Islam. I can say that Mr Abbas is a Muslim in Name Only and that helps.
