Re: Taimur Beg's misconceptionReader comment on item: Keeping Muslim Girls under Wraps in France Submitted by Kafir (United States), Jan 9, 2006 at 20:55 Mr. Beg,Here is the recent article from south asia Mohammad and Nizama case , I don't think they were practicing Hinduism here. I am surprised, How Dr. Pipes missed it !! Drunk man utters 'talaq'. Is it valid? One mufti issued fatwa for divorce as per Sharia law but another mufti gave contrary order as per Sharia law. Instead of so many incosistencies in their Sharia law i don't know why do they follow it at the first place rather than relying on the law of the land. Anyway Sharia law based justice (or shall I say unjustice) is illegal in India, So finally Indian High Court ordered the couple to stay together throwing Sharia decision aside. Below is the Times of India source of this story (well facts :) http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/msid-1359253,curpg-2.cms Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
