bad logic as usualReader comment on item: Keeping Muslim Girls under Wraps in France Submitted by Taimur (United States), Jan 10, 2006 at 10:15 Because there is no inconsistency in the first place (if you care to examine the subject fully). The problem is with the learned fools and quacks and illiterate people who apply one rule of the religion but convinently forget another.Regarding the Mogul rule, my fathers themselves were practicing Hindus. Don't misunderstand my intentions, but everyone knows about the tradition of SATI - when your husband dies, the widow is *burned* with him. The Britishers helped some enlightened Hindus in eliminating this evil in India, otherwise millions and millions of Indian women suffered (and would have continued to suffer). Again, I'm not blaming the great and peace-loving Hindu religion (or Hindus), only answering your Mughal argument. How come that facet of history is never mentioned, and a root cause/ramifications analysis initiated? http://www.kamat.com/kalranga/hindu/sati.htm Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
