Let there be a caliphateReader comment on item: The Caliphate: Updates Submitted by G.Bisvas (Germany), Feb 10, 2006 at 07:40 1) It would be good if there is a caliphate. Then we will have a specific target with specific openly declared singular goals and aims and a specific body to argue with.Let us from our side agree to a caliphate for the muslims, a single well-heard authority to be dealt with. Let there be a muslim pope-like person. I wish Ataturk had not abolished it. a lot of misery would have been spared us (muslims and non-muslims) if the caliphate had been rejuvenated instead of abolished. 2) Benjamin Franklin said: "One who gives up freedom to gain security will lose both at the end." Islam is attracting people, even in a liberty-loving land like USA, by promising security under a fascist totalitarian umbrella (the kuran supposedly knows all the correct questions and correct answers for all times to come). And indeed, in islam-dominated areas and societies the people have neither freedom nor security.
