solution to Sharia excessesReader comment on item: Blaming Islamic Apostasy Laws on Western Imperialism Submitted by Joe E. (United States), Apr 5, 2006 at 17:03 Since the Afghan governement set a precedent for the freeing of a Christian convert in lieu of death by declaring him insane, it follows that moslem clerics worldwide could do as much for other "crimes" commited by infidels.I suggest by this logic, a fatwa could be issued to cover all real and perceived "crimes" by us infidels and simply create a blanket exemption by reason of insanity. This would allow them an excuse to be "tolerant" regarding our foolish, misguided and ignorant behaviour e.g. publishing cartoons, misunderstanding the Koran, etc. Surely Kofi Anan would back such a resolution. That would free up their misspent energies to pursue jihad against something more constructive, such as, well.... ( I leave the punch line to your imagination).
