Amerca the unpopular is now radical chicReader comment on item: America the Unpopular Submitted by Allyson Rowen Taylor (United States), Nov 10, 2003 at 00:36 I have to agree with Mr. Pipes and his views expressed in the article in the Jerusalem Post. I just came from a rally "Against the Apartheid Wall and Occupation" in Santa Monica. intertwined into the rhetoric of Israel as a racist, terrorist state, were the vicious attacks on President Bush, and the occupation of Iraq. The people, who cried after 9/11 have suddenly become very sympathtic of supporters of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Al Queda, though they calim to denounce terror. However, all of their actions, speeches, and lists of charities they donate to prove that this is not the case. Many people were handing out "Socialist Workers" newsleters, and other examples of the radical type of literature that was popular over twenty years ago. Perhaps, it seems new to the yound, naieve people who wear kyffias, and side with Arafat, but they grey haired old hippie types, should have grown up by know, and learned. Luckily, the attendance was minimal, and they mainly preached to their own choir. However, we must stop the hatred of our democracy, and not let emotions and the "human rights" issues theat they use as a cover mask their hatred of America. Don't they realize that this freedom of speech, is part of the American cloth? dAs one sign said, "Women in Black, go live in Iraq"Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
