I am an EuropeanReader comment on item: America the Unpopular Submitted by kjartan thommesen (Norway), Mar 2, 2004 at 05:07 I have been interested in this conflict between the two continents for a while now, and found that in my view a lot of the attacks are coming from America and not the other way around that I feel most Americans believe. When I last visited America, I was watching FOX news. I must say that I have never ever seen such blatant hate on display anywhere in Europe as I saw there. It seem that Americas best and most efective propaganda is to keep foreign news away from its people, if Europe was discussed, it was allways negative. It seems to be a general wieu in the US that Europe laughed after the 9/11 attack . I was outside your embassy laying down flowers that night , watching thousands of people coming with flowers . while a united Europe had joined in to say that we considered the attack an attack on ourselves. One year after this had changed to irritation over american attitudes, but is this only the fault of the Europeans? I do not think so Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
