The Cloward-Piven Strategy seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism through deliberately planned crisis achieved largely by Overloading the system.

Notice the present Overloading of the voter registrations system.

Notice the Overloading of subprime mortages that caused a quake in our economic system.

On May 2, 1966, an article in The Nation, pillar of the ultra-left, elucidated this well planned out strategy created by two Columbia University professors.

It's a plan that takes time, organization, and patience.

By 1975 New York City was in bankrupcy. In that year Mayor Rudy Giuliani cited Cloward and Piven by name as being responsible for an effort at economic sabotage. By that time, implementation of the Cloward-Piven Strategy had accomplished changing cultural attitudes toward welfare from a temporary expedient to an end-in-itself.

Notice that Overloading of welfare rolls was the cause. In 1960 there were 150,000 welfare cases, by the 70's, there were 1.5 million cases. One person on welfare for every two working people.

The seed of our current economic crisis was the Overloading of a system of granting mortgages to risky lenders. While the banking system could have easily absorbed any losses as long as there weren't too many of these loans, as the result of political pressure demanding higher and higher quotas of these subprime loans, and, in addition, the further bad investment practices that ensued with the abandonment of basic banking principles, the system was poised for collapse as soon as there was any economic blip.

Was this disaster the result of well intentioned poor planning and accompanying opportunism, or was ACORN used in a larger, deliberate, long-term strategy to attempt to overthrow capitalism.

Since McCarthy's mishandling of the HUAC investigations, and subsequent disgrace, the idea that there are deceptive long-term plots deliberately aimed at harming them is so abhorrent to Americans, that they disbelieve any facts to the contrary out of hand. Where is the line between Conspiracy Theory and genuine conspiracy?

It's at times of economic crises that democracies are vulnerable to takeover by extreme leftist domination, whether by elections or coup. Manipulation of situations which facilitate the creation of a point of vulnerability is an essential component of radical strategy.

In addition, preparation of the population is achieved by demoralization of the society over a period of time. To achieve their revolutionary change, Cloward and Piven sought to use a cadre of aggressive organizers assisted by friendly news media to force a re-distribution of the nation's wealth.

Rudy Giuliani commented on the negative influence of Cloward-Piven in NYC.

The vast expansion of welfare in New York City that came of the NWRO's [Welfare] Cloward-Piven tactics sent the city into bankruptcy in 1975. Rudy Giuliani cited, Cloward and Piven by name as being responsible for, an effort at economic sabotage. He also credited Cloward-Piven with changing the cultural attitude toward welfare from that of a temporary expedient to a lifetime entitlement, an attitude which in-and-of-itself has caused perhaps the greatest damage of all.

ACORN's voter rights tactics follow the Cloward-Piven Strategy

1. Register as many Democrat voters as possible, legal or otherwise and help them vote, multiple times if possible.

2. Overwhelm the system with fraudulent registrations using multiple entries of the same name, names of deceased, random names from the phone book, even contrived names.

3. Make the system difficult to police by lobbying for minimal identification standards

I ask you, is it possible ACORN would train Obama to take leadership positions within ACORN without telling him what he was training for? Is it possible ACORN would put Obama in leadership positions without clueing him into what his purpose was? Is it possible that this most radical of organizations would put someone in charge of training its trainers, without him knowing what it was he was training them for?

I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.

Barack Obama, the Cloward-Piven candidate, no matter how he describes himself, has been a radical activist for most of his political career. That activism has been in support of organizations and initiatives that at their heart seek to tear the pillars of this nation asunder in order to replace them with their demented socialist vision.
