Obama: His Appointment of Marine General James L. Jones As National Security AdvisorReader comment on item: Reflections on Obama's Inauguration Submitted by Renee Bouvier (United States), Jan 27, 2009 at 14:33 Dear Daniel Pipes, What is your opinion of President Obama's selection of Marine general James L. Jones as his National Security Advisor? General Jones had served as Bush's Middle East envoy. Unfortunately, Bush had relegated (hid) him to a small office in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce -- probably because he later regretted not havng spoken out against Donald Rumsfeld's plan for a "lightly armed invasion of Iraq." Personally, I would be honored to work directly under General Jones in his quest to find some solution to the mayhem in the Middle East. At the end of the day, it will be General Jones, who determines our foreign policy in this particular region. So what do you think?

Will be watching. << Previous Comment Next Comment >> Reader comments (40) on this item
