extremly wrong

dear Anne.

i happened to read your article, and i was extremely shocked by your shallow knowledge about the Druze community regarding their role in helping israel's establishment. i must say that a light must be shed over our case as Druze in Israel. the enlightment i am talking about us absolutely depends on us as Druze. i also must admit that there are no guilty people but us, the Druze, who should have done lot more than expected in order to enlarge the knowledge regarding the Druze role in Israel. if that had been already done, probably you wouldn't have written what you had written here. thus, i feel a huge obligation and moral duty to elighten you regarding the Druze role in Israel.

beginning from the most outrageous phrase you had said: "the Druze opted against Arabs in 1948", then i must say that the Druze didn't have any chance but to join the forces, since a classified treaty which had been signed between the Israeli government and Druze representatives. those Druze representatives had forced all of us for generations to come to accept what no one of us wanted. therefore, and upon signing that treaty in 1948, many Druze refused joining the army due to reasons, like feeling of belonging to arab nationality, identification, traditional and moral ones as well. as a result many conspiracies were woven by the Israelis against us.
