PEACE PROCESS OR WAR PROCESSReader comment on item: Peace Process or War Process? Submitted by JACQUES HADIDA (United States), Sep 22, 2009 at 12:24 I mut say Daniel, that you always amaze me with your rationale. I only wish few people will think like you, preferably people within today's administration. All you say is common sense, but who out there will listen to common sense, when unfortunate hate inhabits people. The Palestinians sem to live by the word of Bertrand Russell: Where are the Palestinian intellectuals or as would say Ayn Rand: A country without intellectuals is like a body without head. The intellectual is the eyes, ears and voice of a free society. It is his job to observe the events of the world, to evaluate their meaning, and to inform the men in all the other fields. Few people can be happy unless they hate some other person, nation, or creed. No outside infuence has succeeded in convincing the Palesinians that the answer to their problem resides in being intelligent..For sadly in their case, the word of James Buchanan surely applies:I am afraid the Palestnian lives under a deep illusion which reminds me this word from Saul Bellow: have seldom met an intelligent person whose views were not narrowed and distorted by religion." In your paper you speak of victory and Winston Churchill is the one who phrased it in the most suitable manner: "What is our aim? ... Victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror; victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival." and we know the importance of survival for Israel. I will stop here and wish of all us the best in this world, called PEACE I A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep
