the downgrading of the Nobel PrizeReader comment on item: That Nobel Peace Prize: Bashes Bush, Handcuffs Obama Submitted by Jules Posten (United States), Oct 9, 2009 at 19:04 can anyone explain what great accomplishment earned Barack Obama the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize? Alfred Nobel must be spinning in the hereafter at the cheapening of his once prestigious award. it's completely obivious that this "award" was political in nature, and meant more as a slap at our former president then as a reward for some meritorious action by our current one. what comes next, the 2010 Nobel Prize awarded to Hugo Chavez for his efforts at open democracy and civil rights in his home country or maybe an award to Gadaffi for his stirring speech at the UN, which no one listening could understand, including his personal translator. if President Obama has an ounce of integrity, he should decline this award, beacause he has obviously done absolutely nothing to deserve it, unless you count his many speeches blaming America for all of the worlds many ills, as an accomplishment.
