Prize for "Hope"Reader comment on item: That Nobel Peace Prize: Bashes Bush, Handcuffs Obama Submitted by Fay Voshell (United States), Oct 10, 2009 at 02:26 The Nobel Prize for peace was not awarded for any actual accomplishments on the part of Obama, as the cut off date for nominations was February 1, giving Obamama about ten days for achieving something constructive. Rather, the prize was awarded on the basis of messianism, a "Hope" with a capital "H." The award was given for the hope of "change." The committee, populated by far leftist folk with a distinct hatred of Western ideals, embraces the "change" Obama represents; namely the emasculation of the West and the elevation of those nations perceived as "victims" of the West. Human rights activists, such as Chinese activists who have paid dearly for their protests--some of whose organs now are "donated" to people who profess ignorance of China's systemic abuse of their people-- were pointedly ignored, and for reasons that are entirely political; one of the political reasons being the fact that Israel hating politicos see in Obama a friend and ally who will throw Israel under the bus just as he has thrown Eastern European friends onto the tracks. Those who would cheer the demise of America as a world power have reason to rejoice. Expect to see the Afghanistan effort eviscerated as Obama seeks to prove himself true to Nobel peace ideals; and expect to see Israel further marginalized as a friend of the US--all in the name of "peace" in our times, of course. And, most chilling, expect to see the US experience an attack which makes 9/11 seem picayune.
