What Good Public Relations Can DoReader comment on item: That Nobel Peace Prize: Bashes Bush, Handcuffs Obama Submitted by B.N.Gururaj (India), Oct 24, 2009 at 23:55 President Obama's nomination for Nobel peace prize is the proof of what good public relations can do for a person. The image built up by the PR consultants works even when there are no accomplishments to back up the image. Even the wise oldmen of Nobel committee are taken in by the PR blitzkrieg. You are right in observing that it will cause more harm to President Obama domestically. I would add that even internationally, he will become an object incredulity, "how did he ever end up with a Nobel Peace prize?". It is not known whether the Nobel committee is in the habit of withdrawing its nominations. This would be the best option available to it and not declare the prize to anyone. If this were not possible, at least in the future years, the Committee has to be more wise and circumspect so that it may salvage its own image and restore the esteem back to the Nobel Peace prize.
