Again, no evidenceReader comment on item: Istinja' with the Torah and New Testament Submitted by Kepha Hor (United States), Sep 28, 2010 at 05:28 Knowing something of the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Koine Greek in which the Old and New Testaements were given, I find that many translations of the Bible into English and Chinese (languages which I read) are in fact trustworthy. I have been told similar things abouut German, Armenian, Modern Greek, Russian, French, Germana, Korean, Hindi, Japanese, New Syriac, and Farsi, which are languages that some of my friends read. I suspect that there are probably good translations into Arabic, Urdu, Malay, Turkish, etc., too. I have read the Qu'ran in English translation (I know almost no Arabic) and suppose that Yusef Ali, M. Dawood, and M.M. Pickthall (Muslims all) did their best with it. "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful," says Psalm 1:1. It has been the habit of too many Western writers, including those who ought to know better, to scoff at the Scriptures. The chief way they do this is to pretend that its translators were dishonest and that the original texts are inaccessible.
