Akbar Ahmad is wrong againReader comment on item: Scholarship about Islam in America Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Oct 6, 2010 at 07:12 Faisal Shahzad (the Times Square bomber) was sentenced yesterday and as expected he shouted the mandatory allahu akbar and then when the judge asked him that he did swear an oath when he became a citizen of the US his reply was: "I did swear but I did not mean it." And then he said: "The Qur'an gives us the right to defend and that is all I'm doing." Oh there is more than he shouted: "Brace yourself because the war with Muslims has only just begun." Now just a few weeks ago Akbar Ahmad told us on CSPAN, when reviewing his horrible new book, that Shahzad was acting because of his frustration about problems in the tribal areas of Pakistan and that his criminal plans to bomb Times Square has nothing to do with islam Now should we expect that Akbar Ahmad would amend his false remarks? I can assure you it will never happen Again like i said before unless muslims admit that there must be doctrines in Islam that would permit such criminal behaviour and that such doctrines Muslimls should declare that such criminal and violent doctrines cannot be part of Islam anymore then we will have more Shahzads and Akbar Ahmad will continue to tell us that "Oh it is not islam it is the tribal areas excuse" Sorry I have no respect for Akbar Ahmad Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
