Dr. PipesReader comment on item: Scholarship about Islam in America Submitted by Irv Distenfeld (United States), Jul 3, 2003 at 16:01 I have followed Dr. Pipes writrings for quite some time. I have also followed the rebuttals by the Arab communiity. The dialogue is healthy. I do have one question that I address to the Arab community. Why is it, that in almost every country where there is a sizable Arab community, there is strife, wanton killings and much hate espoused by the Arab communities . What is it within the Moslem makeup, that this hate is so prevalent? I am not against the Arab community, but I would welcome some of my Arab brothers to explain to me, why this universal hatred is so manifest through out the world. Slowly, the world is beginning to see this problem. Sooner or later, the world will begin to ask this same question. Is Islam a religion of hate??? I don't think so. If it is not a religion of hate, then why does it show this unwillingness to live with people of other faiths??? Respectfully I.
