I find it hard to believe anyone could be so naieve as to really think that the USA goes to war because Lockheed- Martin and McDonald Douglas etc - need to keep a healthy bottom line for their shareholders. Have you noticed how consistent the USA is in stepping up to the plate and at great cost to itself - helping every lost cause around the world - and fortunately some causes that are actually worth helping? You boast Turkey having the 15th biggest economy - does it and did it give the same proportional amount to victims of disasters around the world?

Let's pick 2 large scale disasters that affect muslim countries - the Indonesian tsunami and the recent Pakistani floods. Where was the massive Turkish aid for its muslim 'brothers'? Darfur starvation? Bangladesh floods?

And does the Russian war industry need an enemy too now? Who is its enemy?

Certainly - and as you'd have to agree if Europe was not there - Turkey would be far worse off than it currently is.

Did they teach you any facts at all about WW2 in Turkish schools - were you told that Turkey was aligned with the losers of that dispute? Did they also tell you of the massive amount of aid that the US poured into Europe under the Marshall Plan - especially Germany post 1945 - precisely so that the Europe you so admire - could once again get back to it's prosperity and its democratic traditions? And if the US had not become involved in WW2 at all and Russia was defeated and Europe was under Nazi totalitarian rule - do you really think Hitler saw Turks as Herren Volk?
