Those harsh and biting realitiesReader comment on item: My Optimism About Europe Submitted by Jeff (United States), Feb 17, 2011 at 13:22 Still I am confused why Europe which is most civilized and behaves usually in rationalism is trapped in snare of US and Zionism lobby, Your confusion stems from the simple fact that Europe is not trapped in any snare of any US or any Zionism lobby. US never wants that Europe should think and make decisions independently. Completely untrue. European countries think and make independent decisions every day. US have artificially created mayhem about Islam. There was nothing artificial about September 11. Or July 7. Or March 11. Or any of the other hundreds of murderous acts done in the name of Islam in the past 10 years. Was Daniel Pearl an artificial person? US and its allies are using Islam as a tool to blackmail Europe that if US is getting out from the affairs of Europe, fundamentalist s will soon fill the vacuum. Europe which still lacks confidence what they enjoyed before the Second World War, are considering it a genuine threats and US media is playing gigantic role to confuse and portrait negative image of Islam. No, the US media goes out of its way to avoid criticizing Islam and Muslims. It is Muslims themselves who play a gigantic role in creating a negative portrait of Islam. In reality, for sake of defeating communism, US sponsored Jihad (in modern sense which is followed with letter in spirit by political parties of Afghanistan and Alqeada) and provided millions if not billons dollars to fight against USSR. US lacked strategy or deliberately left the Afghanistan to provide space for religo- political to carry on ceaseless struggle to capture power by exploiting religion. Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and neighbors' jumped to join bandwagon in order to support their favorites groups. In consequence, 9/11 occurred and US blamed Alqeada and kept wry Europe, next will be your turn. The US helped people to throw out the tyrannical Soviets. Having done that, we owed those people nothing further. We blamed Al Qeada for September 11 because they did it. (We didn't blame the zillions who danced in the streets that day.) We didn't have to "kept wry" Europe, they got the message when Muslims blew up buses and trains, and were caught trying to blow up the Strasbourg Cathedral and lot of other places and people. Please try to understand, Islam has nothing to do with terrorism. It is a political ruse or stratagem of US to terrorize Europe in order to exhibit her supremacy and dominance, otherwise without Europe, US is nothing . Without Europe, the US is still the US. We have no interest in terrorizing our friends in Europe (we're not like you with India). 3.151] We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they set up with Allah that for which He has sent down no authority, and their abode is the fire, and evil is the abode of the unjust. [8.12] When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them. Any of the above sound familiar? Say, why are you so worried about Europeans, anyway? [5.51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people. West fought two world wars but nobody condemned Christianity. That's because neither war was started to advance Christianity. September 11, March 11, July 7, etc. etc. were all done, exclaimed loudly by the perpetrators, for the advancement of Islam. Despite mostly Western countries are Christians including Germany and Hitler was a Christian but his religious entity was never highlighted because he was a killer of humanity. Hitler was not a Christian. Hitler imprisoned any Catholic priest who got in his way. He never claimed to do anything for the advancement of Christianity. Western Media and bigotry scholars are tarnishing the image of Islam. "Bigotry scholars." Interesting term. Pakistan has plenty of them. Christians are murdered for apostacy. Ahmadi Muslims are murdered routinely. Mosques explode with frightening regularity. The murderer of Salman Taseer is celebrated by thousands (so much for that "few disgruntled and extremists" theory). Islam has nothing to do with cruelty, hostility and mayhem. Give any example of Islam especially with reference to Quran which support extremism and terrorism. How about the Sira of the Prophet, p 511: Kinana bin al-Rabi, who had the custody of the treasure of Bani al-Nadir, was brought to the Apostle who asked him about it. He denied that he knew where it was. A Jew came to the Apostle and said that he had seen Kinana going round a certain ruin every morning early. When the Apostle said to Kinana, "Do you know that if we find you have it I shall kill you?" he said, Yes. The Apostle gave orders that the ruin was to be excavated and some of the treasure was found. When he asked him about the rest he refused to produce it, so the Apostle gave orders to al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam, "Torture him until you extract what he has," so he kindled a fire with flint and steel on his chest until he was nearly dead. Nice. Just my curiosity, how many guys did the Buddha have tortured? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
